Barry Hawkins won all four of his day one fixtures to top Group 1 of BetVictor Championship League Snooker after the opening day of play at the Morningside Arena, Leicester.
Hawkins defeated Neil Robertson, Mark Selby, Luca Brecel and Jack Lisowski to take a commanding league on the group table. BetVictor Championship League Snooker is broadcast on a host of betting websites and on zhibo.tv, one of the biggest sports streaming platforms in China.
Each of the seven players faces each other once in the round-robin group stage, after which the top four players in the league table progress to Tuesday evening’s play-offs. The eventual group champion advances to March’s Winners’ Group with the remaining players who finished in the top five during the league phase continuing to group two, where three new players join the tournament. The bottom two players in each group phase are eliminated. All matches are best of five.
All seven players have already picked up wins, with both Jimmy and Neil Robertson having won twice while Lisowski, Selby, Brecel and Ryan Day all have one victory each, leaving it all to play for on day two. The highest break of the tournament currently stands at 131, made by Selby against Neil Robertson.
BetVictor Championship League Snooker is a venture between Matchroom Sport and Perform where 25 of the game’s elite players compete for their share of a total prize pot of up to £205,000.
